The things I learn in the classroom are so interesting to me. For example, if I learn vocabulary I would try to furnish it into my everyday diction; I love to insult my brothers with highly academic words that they don't know. I try to connect what I have learned to the world and society around us and how it is affecting us. In Theater Production we often do plays incorporating English Literature or about history, plays like Anne Frank, Spoon River, The Glass Managery, Arsenic and Old Lace and The Laramie Project. I learn plenty of things form these plays form Old English to the Yellow Fever of WWll and I hope our audience also take the educational material that we have provided them with.

Journal #2
In this society there is both healthy and unhealthy competition. The healthy competition can be between stores like Walmart and Target. They try to compete on who has the better prices and at the end of the day it benefits the customer and they get the better deal and the stores get more customers hence more money for the company. The unhealthy competition can be among sports teams themselves. For example, on the track team can be who has the faster runner or theater on who gets the spotlight or the part in the play. A experience that I experienced was while I was a cheerleader here at Castle Park High. One of my good friends has been in cheer ever since she was eight years old and she was in JV while other girls were in Varsity. One day I was at her house and I decided to go to Facebook and on my Newsfeed I see a Varsity Cheerleader write and letter saying horrible things about Junior Varsity. Other Varsity girls commented on the status and also said horrible things about the team especially at my friend. They were saying how she was "gumpy" and she did not know how to Cheer and how she thought she was Varsity material. I known this girl for sometime and not once have I seen her boast about how much better she is than other girls she was, not once has she said she was Varsity material. Up to this date I still don't know why they were cyberbullying her if she wouldn't hurt a fly. Were they seeing her as competition? Did they think she was stealing THEIR spot light? Or was it just plain entertainment for the other girls to see Junior Varsity go down on the "social scale"?

Blind man: "Karina can you please describe me the color of red?"
Karina: "Red in the sense of hearing, is the sensual music you hear when you go to a jazz bar. The taste of red is the tomato sauce you put in you spaghetti when you eat your dish. The luscious flavor when you bite a juicy strawberry or watermelon. Red is the smell of freshly baked cheery pie your mom makes during Christmas. The burning sensation you feel when you touch a hot stove, that's what red feels like. Red is the color of love, passionate intense feeling. Red is the color people use when they celebrate Valentines day, the red roses, the passionate color of love representing the heart and attraction feeling towards one another. Red is also the meaning of desire of wanting something amorous. Blood is the color of red, the liquid that comes out of your body when you get a severe cut and the smell of iron when you're bleeding."
